New York Securities Fraud Attorney: Steven B. Caruso

Investment fraud victims need legal representation by someone with an insider's view to Wall Street. Prior to becoming the New York City resident partner of Maddox Hargett & Caruso – a securities arbitration law firm focused exclusively on representing individual and institutional investors in securities-related disputes – Caruso had a front row seat to the investment banking world where he held positions at several prestigious national brokerage firms.

Today, Caruso uses his inside knowledge of Wall Street to help investors recoup financial losses caused by stockbroker misconduct, violations of State and Federal securities laws, misrepresentation of financial products, and stockbroker negligence. Since 1991, Caruso and the team of attorneys at Maddox Hargett & Caruso have recovered tens of millions of dollars for both retail and institutional investors through arbitrations, independent settlements, mediations and State and Federal court litigation.

In February 2009, Caruso was appointed as a public member of the National Arbitration and Mediation Committee (NAMC) of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the self-regulatory organization responsible for providing recommendations on the rules, regulations and procedures governing arbitrations, mediations and dispute resolution.

In 2007, Caruso completed his term as President of the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association (PIABA), where he had served as a member of PIABA's Board of Directors since 2002. Established in 1990, PIABA is a national bar association whose members represent investors in disputes with the securities industry.

Caruso's expertise in securities law makes him a sought-after speaker and lecturer. In addition, he is an author and contributor to numerous securities law and finance-related publications and periodicals. Caruso also is regularly quoted in the media on emerging securities and investment issues. Among these media outlets: The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, The New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, Newsweek, Business Week, the Los Angeles Times, Associated Press Television, Crain's New York, as well as others.
